FAQ's
Why do we want a website?A website is a handy reference tool that makes it easy for people to find class or club information such as officers, dues and how to pay them, and information on class/club events and how to attend. Create interest in your class or club:
Build connections between members:
Promote connections to Cornell:
What does it cost?Cornell University does not charge alumni groups for space on its server. Your organization may decide to invest in software or equipment for your webmaster. Remember that expenses incurred in the development of a website may be offset by savings in printing and postage, greater attendance at events, and increased dues paying.
Who is responsible for class and club webpages? You! Class and club webpages are built and maintained solely by volunteers. We do not dictate content or place restrictions on the disk space you can use. Volunteer webmasters are responsible for updating their own sites and providing their own content. Exceptions: alumni.cornell webmasters may have to help you with interactive forms and content you need to post on the Secure Server (online dues forms, for instance). Make sure material you post on your site does not violate copyrights.
