What is RSS?

RSS, short for Really Simple Syndication, is an easy way for websites to publish up to date content to a wide audience. Our RSS feeds always contain the latest news from the Cornell alumni community and events from the Alumni Events Calendar.

There are many ways to read an RSS feed. Websites such as Google and Yahoo! allow you to create a personalized home page and add your own RSS feeds. Modern web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 7.0, and Safari allow you to read RSS feeds through your bookmarks. Additionally, there are software packages such as NewsGator and Google Reader designed to read RSS feeds.

RSS feeds can also be used to generate dynamic web content. If you want your site to always contain up to date news without having to manually update it, RSS feeds are the answer!
