Dinner with Student “Sisters”
Arriving early? All PCCW members are warmly invited to enjoy dinner with "sisters" representing the many sororities on our Cornell campus. This year's dinner is hosted by Alpha Xi Delta Sorority at 40 Ridgewood Road. If you have a sorority affiliation, please indicate it where requested in your online registration. The information will be used to invite leaders from other sororities so they might join you for dinner. You will receive a confirmation and instructions via e-mail by February 28.

Learn the Ropes!
$40/person
Ready for a PCCW adventure? Join other early arrivals on the Hoffman indoor ropes course in Barton Hall for a morning of fun and challenge led by Cornell Outdoor Education. Wear comfortable, casual clothing. All necessary equipment will be provided. No experience necessary. If you register for this program, you will receive a confirmation and instructions a few days before the event.

Women's Power Lunch
This popular annual event connects PCCW members with graduate students from across the Ithaca campus for career discussions and advice. A number of relevant, insightful questions have been prepared for our panelists. Returning this year is "Dress for Success," a fashion demonstration starring PCCW members! Learn some best practices for dress in the workplace and how versatile wardrobe pieces can help you maintain a professional look on a budget.

Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Johnson School and the Women’s Management Council as a part of the JP Morgan Chase & Co. Women’s Power Lunch series.

    PCCW and the Cornell Career Center proudly continue this popular annual lunch event, which provides an opportunity for juniors and seniors to mingle with and ask career questions of PCCW women.

Starting Our New Journey: Cornell University’s “Toward New Destinations” Institutional
Diversity Planning

Since 2000, Cornell University has been committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty, staff, and students, and implementing programs to create an inclusive climate. Over the years, there has been progress, which has been highlighted annual in the Inclusion Report. In 2010, the university announced its 2010-2015 strategic plan, which includes a number of diversity goals. To support implementation of these goals, this year the University Diversity Council was reconfigured to promote accountability and to present a new approach to institutional diversity planning. This new plan, "Toward New Destinations," will be the road map for the implementation of diversity initiatives in the colleges and administrative units at Cornell.

The White House Project
If you could do one thing to change America for the better, what would it be? At The White House Project, they believe that if you add women to the ranks of leadership, you change everything. Learn about this national, non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing a richly diverse, critical mass of women into the political pipeline, and fostering the entry of women into positions of leadership in all sectors, up to and including the U.S. presidency.

The Tide of Women Changing Politics and Media
How are women in political professions portrayed in the national and international media? We know women are making a difference in the political landscape, but what are their unique contributions? Our PCCW panelists all maintain careers that touch the political arena in a variety of ways, including print and social media. Let them enlighten you on how women are using the political disciplines to help facilitate positive change in the world.

We will also screen a video provided by PCCW member Kim Azzarelli '93, JD '97, vice president of The Newsweek Daily Beast Company, featuring women across the globe who are making a difference in politics.

Amid the beautiful surroundings of the world-famous Cornell Lab of Ornithology, become inspired as you listen to 2011 Affinito-Stewart Grants recipients describe their research and how PCCW has helped them on the road to receiving tenure at Cornell. You will also enjoy a tour of the lab, a world leader in the study, appreciation, and conservation of birds.

Health Care Reform in the 21st Century
The Accountable Care Act (ACA) of 2010 will substantially change the U.S. health care system. What are its major provisions? How has it been shaped by politics? What is its likely effect on access to medical care, the quality of medical care, and the cost of medical care? And what are the ramifications of its upcoming review by the Supreme Court?
