One of PCCW’s goals is to enable its members to become leaders in other volunteer Cornell organizations. Laura Denbow, in the newly created position of senior director of volunteer programs in the Office of Alumni Affairs, will describe the Trustee Task Force on Volunteer Leadership and how her office will support volunteers at Cornell. A panel of PCCW members will share their experiences in other Cornell volunteer groups—how they got involved, the rewards and challenges of participation, and advice to prospective volunteers. handout

Bonjour! Willkommen! Una Introducción: The Language House on West Campus
The Language House is Cornell’s language-learning residence. The goal of the program is to provide a setting in which students can become comfortably fluent in one or more target residential languages: Arabic, French, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish. (It also supports two "virtual" language sections in German and Korean.) Language House residents benefit from the intellectual and social life distinctive of west campus while enjoying the close-knit atmosphere unique to the Language House.

In order to be successful in this era, institutions must command a significant global presence. Top-ranked universities have achieved this by incorporating global programs into their strategies. Weill Cornell in Qatar
From Cayuga's waters to the deserts of Qatar, Cornell doctors know no boundaries. The partnership formed in 2001 between Weill Cornell Medical College and the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development broke cultural and political barriers to create the first American medical school outside the U.S. This international affiliation expands faculty research opportunities, and its cross-cultural encounters enrich students’ education.
