2002 CAAAN Summer Send-Off

The Cornell Club of Hawai'i - Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassadors Network (CAAAN) program enjoyed a banner year thanks to tremendous support from our alumni volunteers in the CAAAN program, our incredibly helpful undergraduates, and a very supportive effort from the Undergraduate Admissions Office. In August 2002, we sent off 16 new freshmen to Cornell, increasing the prospect of expanding the number of local students on campus to more than 60 students over the next few years. In early November 2002, Doris Davis, Associate University Provost for Admissions, will briefly visit Honolulu while transiting to Asia. During her stopover, Doris is expected to meet with the CAAAN Chairman.

Allen R. Wolff, CAAAN Chairman for the Cornell Club of Hawai'i graciously sponsored a Summer Send-Off for 16 new students bound for Cornell August 11, 2002 at his home. The event was a tremendous success!

Below are some photos from the event.

The next CAAAN event will be the Cornell Applicant Forum held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on the evening of Thursday, December 26, 2002 at the Hawaii Kai Public Library, 249 Lunalilo Home Road in Hawaii Kai.

If any alumni wish to become involved with recruiting and interviewing our local applicants through the CAAAN program, please contact Allen Wolff, CAAAN Chairman, at: arw@carlsmith.com; or via telephone at: 523-2550.
