| November 2003 | Coors Brewery Tour - A 35-40 minute walking brewery tour experience reveals the unique Coors process of making beer from malting and brewing to packaging. Located at 12th and Ford Streets in Golden, CO 80401. Complimentary beer samples and soft drinks are served after the tours. Beer samples are limited in quantity and available only to those 21 years and older with proper ID. Visitors under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. | June 2003 | 5th annual All Ivy 5K Walk/Run Cornell has proudly earned its bragging rights! Cornell successfully dethroned Yale for "most participation" in this Ivy event with the added bonus of beating them in the male and female run category, Yale will come back with a vengeance, with Princeton and Brown not far behind, so lets be ready. Bring walkers, bring runners, bring children and spouses to Washington Park! It's a great event and the prizes and celebratory picnic afterwards are a blast. | May 2-4, 2003 | 9th Annual Dude Ranch Weekend No forest fires are going to hold us back from strapping on the chaps, chewing straw, and sitting around a campfire after a long, hard day of riding. Lost Valley Ranch, located in the beautiful Pikes National Forest, offers all levels for trail riding from picturesque trail walks for novices to challenging rides for the experts. If horsing around isnt your "thing", then come get-away to the great fly-fishing, hiking, trap shooting, square dancing or site seeing. Contact Cathy Cohen '67 for more information. | April 2003 | "Spacin' at the Basin" Bring the sunscreen and come spend the day with us on the "beach". This is an A-basin tradition, and whether you choose to ski or not, there will be plenty of food, fun and good times. We will be tailgating in our usual prime spot directly in front of the ski lifts. "All-Ivy + Stanford" ski rain outing - organized by the Rocky Mountain Princeton Club. As the 70 participants from last year's outing can attest, if you haven't tried the ski train, you haven't lived fully. It's a great opportunity to meet people of all ages from the various clubs in an atmosphere where you can actually have a meaningful conversation. The route's scenery is gorgeous, the seating truly spacious and comfortable, and you are dropped within 100 yards of the slopes, closer than you can park. Rental equipment is available right where you are let off. If you don't care to ski, you can snowshoe, cross country ski, take a snowcat tour of the mountain, go for a sleigh ride, or rent a snowmobile, all from Winter Park. Since the ski train sells out every year, please take advantage of the entire train car we have reserved for you, your friends and your family. Pour La France supplies and staffs the cafe/lounge and snack bars on the train, offering an assortment of fresh juices, coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast burritos or croissants, and other delicious pastries and snacks. Beer and wine are available on the return trip.
Date: Saturday, February 22, 2003. Discounted Train Ticket: $40 (normally $45 on Saturdays). Discounted Lift Tickets: If purchased along with train ticket, $44 adult and $16 children ages 6-13. Free for children under 6 and seniors 70 and over (proof of age required). On the train, lift tickets cost slightly more but are still discounted. At the slopes, tickets cost $57 for adults and $21 for children. Location: Union Station, Denver, 17th and Wynkoop Streets, LoDo. Time: Train Departs 7:15 a.m. Departs Winter Park 4:15 p.m. for Denver arrival c. 6:30 p.m. Gathering point and time: 6:45 a.m. in the main train station waiting room, not at the ski train entrance. If you arrive after 7:10 a.m., head straight to the platform. Parking: $10-15 per day in the lot out front of the station. No metered all-day parking on street. $7-15 in surrounding private lots. Tip - arrive early to get parking at the station because it may sell out and the train leaves at 7:15 sharp. Directions: From I-25 - take the 20th St. exit (212-C) towards Coors Field and downtown, turn right on Blake St., and right again on 17th St. to Union Station; From Denver - take Speer Blvd. to Market St. heading downtown, turn left on 15th St. and right on Wynkoop St. to Union Station; Light Rail - the ski train people think the "C-Line" is a possibility at that hour of a Saturday morning. 4th Annual "All Ivy + Stanford" Bowling Looking for a little nostalgia - or just plain fun? Join us for a night of bowling at the Denver Athletic Club (DAC). The Ivys, Stanford, and others will all be out throwing for strikes, or striking out, so come show us what you've got! And feel free to bring your friends! The DAC's bowling alley is a cool spot to party, especially when it's reserved just for us.
Bowlers of all abilities are encouraged to participate, including first timers. No excuses - we want to see you out! Limited to first 50 people - Don't delay! Last year we had to turn away some folks.
