We'll map out a route of some favorite haunts in LoDo and let you know when and where you can find us Cornellians doing what we do well-- partying. | April 27-29, 2001 | 7th Annual Dude Ranch Weekend -- A lot more than just great horses at this ranch. Whether you ride or not, you'll find way more things to do out here in the wild than you'll have time for. From beginner to advanced riders, everyone can make the most of daily rides and expert guidance from the wranglers on staff. If you can find the time, there's also trails to hike and bike, streams to fish, and trap to shoot. Nestled away in the Pike National Forest 2 hours outside of metro Denver, Lost Valley Ranch is an excellent all-inclusive weekend getaway from your hectic urban lifestyle. This event sells out early every year and generally includes at least 50% returning guests -- please note the Oct. 10th deposit deadline! | April 8, 2001 | Spring BBQ & Ski at A-Basin -- Ski, board, or grill it up at Arapahoe Basin on Sunday for a day "on the beach". Grill up some burgers, brats, or steak, grab a brew, and take in the awesome mountain air. Plenty of time to take a few runs or just kick back and enjoy the view. Paul Leo '82 has been spacin' at the basin for years and always gets the best tailgating spot right in front of the lifts. We'll start around 8:00 AM, but feel free to stop by anytime. | March 13, 2001 | Faculty Speaker Cocktail Reception with Prof. James Garbarino - Hear renowned Cornell Professor James Garbarino, Director, Family Life Development Center, speak on "Lost Boys: Why our Sons Turn Violent". Professor Garbarino's talk will center on the challenges of caring for youth in a socially toxic environment and the hopes of strengthening their resistance against harmful surroundings of racism, violence, unstable family relationships, and other societal dangers. | Jan./Feb. 2001 | 2nd Annual All-Ivy Bowling Night -- Stop snickering -- this is loads of fun. We get exclusive use of the 8 lanes at the Denver Athletic Club, a cash bar, and three hours with our ivy league friends to remember how bad we used to bowl in junior high -- and how we always had a lot of laughs! No need to bring your own ball or shoes. Do bring lots of friends, otherwise they won't believe that you actually went bowling. 7 - 10PM, Denver Athletic Club, 14th & Glenarm, downtown.
