| February 11, 2000 | All-Ivy Bowling Night at the Denver Athletic Club. Join fellow Ivy League alumni from Harvard, Princeton, and Brown in a fun bowling night. Yes, the Denver Athletic Club has 8 bowling lanes and plenty of bowling balls and shoes to fit everybody. We will have a friendly competition of mixed teams.Bring friends and recapture some old memories when you used to go bowling as a kid. Do you remember the last time you went bowling? Probably not, but you probably remember that it was a lot of fun. Contact Norma Moore of the Rocky Mountain Harvard Club at 303-494-8031.
RECAP: As you might have expected, nobody could really remember the last time they went bowling, but they all will remember this time. 4 Ivy schools came to roll strikes and find out what's going on at the other alumni clubs. Due to the success of the bowling night, chances are good that we'll do more All-Ivy events in the future. About thirty Harvard (the event organizer), Princeton, Brown, and Cornell alumns had plenty of lanes to practice on before the mixed team competition, where the high score for a team of 5 was a whopping 565. High game was 148. The DAC's smoke-free lanes were reserved for our use for 3 hours, giving everybody lots of time to throw a few games and just hang out and share a few cocktails and stories. We're planning to make this an annual event, so dust off that old ball in the closet and get ready for 2001. |
