Schedule of Events
2007-2008

October 18, 2007 Celebrate the International Spirit of Zinck's Night, 5:30 - ? p.m. -- Join local Cornell alumni, and thousands of other alumni across the world, to celebrate the International Spirit of Zinck's. We will meet at the Palomino Restaurant in downtown Denver at the corner of Arapahoe and the 16th Street Mall. Specifically, we will be in the lounge area just to the right of the main entrance off of the Mall. For more information, contact Michael Santisi '91.
December 2007 Indoor Rock Climbing -- If you've ever wanted to learn how to rock climb, or if you are experienced and are looking to meet some fellow Cornell climbers, then be sure not to miss this event! This will be the sixth year in a row for this very popular event. This is an activity that is open to the entire family, so please feel free to bring your children. We will send out more information via e-mail, but if you have any additional questions, please contact Kevin Callahan, MBA '00.
January 6, 2008 Cornell Cares Day -- This event began last year and the University is hoping that it will become an annual tradition a la Zinck's Night. The idea is that each Cornell alumni club around the world will choose a volunteer activity to engage in on this day. Another aspect of this event is to involve current Cornell students who are home during winter break. We have yet to determine what our activity will be, so suggestions are certainly welcome! Please contact Keo Frazier '00.
March 2008 Cornell Speaker Event -- Each spring, a prestigious Cornell professor visits our great state of Colorado to enlighten and entertain us with thought-provoking information. Additional details will follow in a separate mailing. This is an event you won't want to miss! Contact Peter Quinn '97.
April 2008 "Spacin' at the Basin" -- Spacin' returns for another year as we gather at Arapahoe Basin to spend a day on the beach. Bring the goggles and the sunscreen because the weather can change instantaneously, but the snow conditions are sure to be great. If you don't ski, that's okay. There will be plenty of food, fun and good times. We will be tailgating in our usual prime spot directly in front of the ski lifts. The grill starts up around 9:00 a.m., but stop by anytime throughout the day for treats and festivities. For more details, contact Paul Leo '81.
April 2008 CAAAN Accepted Students Event -- The admissions process is complete. Now, prospective students must make a very big decision… accept the offer to attend Cornell University, the best school in the world, or accept an offer from some other school. Come share your memories, stories and advice with these young prospective students and guide them to making the right decision. Contact one of our CAAAN chairs, Jennifer O'Brien '95 or Javier del Castillo '94.
April 25–27, 2008 14th Annual Dude Ranch Weekend -- Walk, trot, or canter on fantastic horseback rides for all abilities from beginner to advanced riders at beautiful Lost Valley Ranch in the Pike National Forest. The hiking is equally fabulous and tennis, fishing, volleyball, horseshoes, hot tubs, and a Saturday evening square dance will give you plenty to do when you're not in the saddle. Please see the enclosed flyer or contact Rich Boyan, MBA '91 at for more information. Don't delay, this trip is our most popular event and sells fast!
August 2008 CAAAN Send-off Party -- The Class of 2012 will soon head east to begin their studies and adventures on the hill in Ithaca, NY. Those first few days can be scary and it's nice to have met friends from home before you leave. Let's send them off to the beautiful Cornell campus with a bang! We'll keep it our little secret about the Ithaca winters. Contact one of our CAAAN chairs, Jennifer O'Brien '95 or Javier del Castillo '94 for more details.
