M. Keith Lipscomb graduated from the Cornell Law School in 2000. Mr. Lipscomb is a member of the intellectual property department at Kluger, Peretz, Kaplan & Berlin P.L. where he manages trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secret, noncompete agreement and patent litigations and also manages licensing matters and other intellectual property transactions.
In addition to serving as President of the Cornell Club of Greater Miami and the Florida Keys, Mr. Lipscomb is a member of the advisory board of Best Buddies International, a copyright adviser to local artists through Legal Art, Inc. and sits on the board of the intellectual property law sections of the Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association. He also regularly lectures on trademark law at Florida International University College of Law, and consistently serves as a guest judge at Nova South Eastern University's for its annual moot court competition. Mr. Lipscomb graduated from Leadership Miami in 2005. Between his undergraduate and law school studies, Mr. Lipscomb worked as a Legislative Assistant for United States Senator Mike DeWine in Washington, D.C.

Ralph Rivera Ag '88
In 1988, Mr. Rivera achieved a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. Shortly thereafter, he began his career in the banking industry with various Banks in the Greater Boston area such as BayBank, Bank of Boston and Fleet Bank – RECOLL Management Corporation. Mr. Rivera was able to apply his banking experience in the economic development arena for several years with the City of Boston and Boston Community Capital. After a successful career in the Greater Boston /Massachusetts area, Mr. Rivera relocated to Florida in 2000.
At the present, Mr. Rivera is employed as a Credit Portfolio Specialist in the Private Wealth Management Department of SunTrust Bank - South Florida. He oversees the credit underwriting needs of new credit requests and existing portfolio credit needs.

Dr. Alejandro Badia performed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Physiology. He obtained his medical degree at New York University where he subsequently completed his Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Orthopedic Surgery. He went on to a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. This was followed by a traveling Hand Fellowship in Europe through the AO Trauma Association.
Dr. Badia is a founding partner of the world renowned Miami Hand Center that now includes 5 hand and microsurgeons, a pain management anesthesiologist and team of hand therapists.
He also runs a prestigious hand surgery fellowship that has trained surgeons from five continents and he conducts a small joint arthroscopy course at a laboratory within the center. He also organizes a yearly conference in Miami that brings together hundreds of surgeons to discuss hand/wrist joint replacement and arthroscopic procedures. The meeting will soon be held at the DaVinci Center, founded by Dr. Badia and two arthroscopic surgeons, a unique surgical training center with emphasis on hands-on learning in orthopedic surgical techniques. His hobbies include travel, scuba diving, weight lifting, running, boating and ballroom/salsa dancing.

Rodrigo Tsutsumi graduated for Cornell University's Hotel School in 1994. Therafter, Mr. Tsutsumi was employed by Erlandsen-Himmelman & Associates, a hospitality consulting firm in Seattle, WA. In 1997, spurred by a desire to get back into the operational aspects of the hospitality business, Mr. Tstsumi joined Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and has worked for it since that time. Currently, he serve as their Revenue Manager in Miami.
Rodrigo has been fortunate to call South Florida his home for the last six years.
His involvement with CAAAN began 2 years ago, and he feels it is a great way to personally play a small role in shaping the future of Cornell as well as re-connecting with the Cornell community.

Carolina Maharbiz graduated from Cornell in 1999 with a B.A. in Art History. After graduation, she worked as a paralegal in a New York City law firm. Her experience convinced her to apply to law school, which she began in the Fall of 2000 at Yale Law school. She graduated in the Spring of 2003 and moved back to her hometown of Miami, where she began working as a litigation associate at the law firm of Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP. Carolina then worked as a law clerk for the Honorable James I. Cohn of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Upon completion of her clerkship, she returned to private practice and it currently working as an associate for Akerman Senterfitt.
