The Pickup by Nadine Gordimer
Our third book discussion was moderated by Dagmawi Woubshet, Assistant Professor of English.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Class of '10 (good grief!) read the book as their First Book project and it was the subject of our second Class of 1988 Book Discussion.
Things Fall Apart by
Chinua Achebe
We inaugurated the Cornell Class of '88 Book Club with a spirited discussion of Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart. Moderated by Cornell Prof. Chima Anyadike, the discussion brought together a wonderful group of classmates in a friendly, generous, intellectual engagement.

In 2001, the New Student Reading Project was started to encourage reading for pleasure and to foster communication among students and faculty through a shared reading experience. Now 6 years later, the program has proven a success and has expanded to include Alumni. Find out more about the 2007 New Student Reading Project.
