Petra
Harvey and Ann Coffeen Turner of Mendham, NJ, visited the beautiful Treasury Building in Petra, Jordan in mid-March, and with this trek, have now seen all Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The camels took them 1.5 miles back (“...nice swaying ride”) which helped to offset a nearly sleepless (2 hours) night before in a windy wadi tent. Ann is still tutoring full-time at nearby Gill-St. Bernard’s School in Gladstone, while Harvey works part-time as an advertising salesman for the Star Ledger. Ann’s busman’s holiday is a Saturday tutoring program for inner-city children, and she is also selling her teaching materials on the Internet. They both dote full-time on their two Vietnamese grandchilfren, Hieu and Thoa.

Brennan
Never let it be said that Cornellians are parochial in their allegiances. Here is a picture of Mary and Jack Brennan ’52, with “Tom, the Skating Tiger”, of Princeton University, who performs at many sporting events at “Old Nassau”. Of course, the fact that Tom happens to be Tom Brennan, who is their grandson may have something to do with it. Young Tom is a senior at Princeton, and this picture was taken at the Princeton-Brown hockey game, Feb. 8, 2008. Now, who do you root for when Cornell plays Princeton?

Here is a photo of classmate Luis Montero-Pinillos, along with Colonel Joe Felter (Anti-Terrorism Center, USMA), Luis Silva (Assistant to Mr. Montero-Pinillos), Luis Montero-Pinillos, General Patrick Finnegan (Dean of the Academic Board, USMA), and John Cardone (President, Seal and Serpent, Cornell), taken at a Combating Terrorism Center Benefit Dinner in New York City on 9/11/07.
