Scholarships made his Cornell education possible. He became fascinated by economics dilemmas and found the attention from faculty and fellow students "phenomenal." Deeply interested in understanding why poverty exists and what can be done about it, he is working on economic policy issues at the Brookings Institution this year.

His future plans: To earn a Ph.D. and "go on to make an impact on society."

Hear Marquise talk about his Cornell experience, background, and interests here.
