  • THE FOUNDATION CENTER

    • The Foundation Center maintains the most comprehensive information about all types of foundations in the US. They maintain a useful and up-to-date site with many useful links. Includes information from their directories, news, and an online library.


    • Their Foundation Finder will search by name for basic information about foundations within the universe of more than 70,000 private and community foundations in the U.S.
  • Web Pages of the Foundations

    • Many foundations maintain their own home pages. These are now the best and most current sources of information available. You can search for these individually, or you can access many of them through The Foundation Center.


    • The Foundation Center also posts worksheets to use while doing prospect research.
  • Search Engines
    • Cornell Community members can access the Foundation Directory online prospect research tool with information about 70,000 foundations through the Cornell Library Gateway. For access instructions, click here.

    • FC Search is a cd-rom version of the Foundation Directory put out by The Foundation Center.  For further information, contact the Foundation Relations Office.

    • The Foundation Center's search feature allows you to search either their site or the web using key words for subject area and type of funder.
