Doug Leone is a General Partner of Sequoia Capital, focusing on investments in the software and systems sectors. He is a Director of Callisma, Covalent, Incode, Onetta, Metreo, nthOrbit, Rhapsody, RouteScience, Scient, Telera, and VA Linux. He is also responsible for Sequoia Capital's investments in Guardent, Rackspace and Vina Technology. Before joining Sequoia Capital in 1988, Mr. Leone held sales and sales management positions at Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard and Prime Computer. In 2001, Forbes Magazine named him as one of the top ten venture capitalists. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Menlo School Legacy Society and was a featured speaker at Blueprint: The Business Strategy Summit for Internet Companies in San Francisco in 2000.
A member of the Cornell University Council, Mr. Leone serves on the Cornell Research Foundation's Long Range Planning Committee and has been a member of the University's Private Equity Advisory Committee.
